Acoma Pueblo Horsehair Cylinder Pottery Vase by Eric Louis

This Pueblo Acoma Horsehair Cylinder Vase was made by talented Acoma Artist, Eric Louis. Using both traditional and modern methods, horsehair is strategically burned in place to create a one-of-a-kind design that the artist envisions. Designed with a cloudy sky pattern, Zia and Feather dancers, adorned with a petite Turquoise embellishment to represent beauty. Intricately hand-etched designs that are etched freehand completely by memory. This measures a height of 13” and 5-1/2” in width. In good vintage condition, the artist's signature and location are etched onto the bottom of the vase. This Pueblo Acoma Horsehair Cylinder Vase is made by a fourth-generation potter, Eric's mother Corrine was the original innovator of Acoma Horsehair pottery!

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time. We are more than happy to offer curbside pickup if you are in the area, give us a call.

Our dazzling, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise comes from a nearby mine in Globe, AZ. This unique and exceedingly rare turquoise is renowned for its hardness, durability, and gorgeous color. Our artisans preserve the natural beauty of this precious stone, so you can admire its elegance for years to come. A hand buffed polish protects the stones and heightens its natural beauty.
