Antique Arapaho Beaded Whimsy

This Antique Arapaho Beaded Whimsy came to us in trade, along with other Native American goods that were inherited by the owner. This was a handmade souvenir, made at a time when eastern folks were fascinated by all things, Native. The cut glass beads are hand-sewn in a dimensional design that resembles flowers and the outer shape is completely beaded. It's about 8-1/2" long and 5" wide and circa 1910's. There are broken strands with bead loss and fraying red fabric on the front and a torn polished cotton backing. The dark red silk at the top is also frayed. Although there are some condition problems, this Antique Arapaho Beaded Whimsy is a delightful piece of the past, that will never be seen again!
