This Hopi Chasing Star Kachina comes from Milton Howard, a museum quality, Native American carver. This traditional cottonwood doll, which represents the stars, planets and sometimes meteors streaking thru the skies, is unsurpassed in attention to detail. From the realistic feather work to the miniature Sunface on his exquisite headdress, this is superb! Details include a moveable jacla necklace, decorative sash, knee bells and ketoh cuffs. He dances atop a half-globe of a night sky against the dusky tones of a mesa on one side and the purification and clearing of the night on the other. He's 6-1/2" tall (includes base), 3” wide and 3-3/8" deep. This Hopi Chasing Star Kachina is hallmarked on the base.
