Mata Ortiz Redware Pottery Seed Pot by Martha M. Quezada

This Mata Ortiz Pottery Seed Pot is a unique shape and design that truly stands out amongst the rest! Made by artist Martha M. Quezada, she crafted this pot by stacking hand coiled rings of clay on top of one another, and then scraping them together smooth to complete the shape. She then forms a small hole at the top, as well as an additional ring that sits underneath the pot acting as a stand. After painting the pot using natural plants found near the reservation, she fires it in their version of a kiln to seal everything together. This pot is 7-3/4" by 7", and is great condition with signs of a stain at the top, as well as signs of repair on the stand. This Mata Ortiz Redware Pottery Seed Pot by Martha M. Quezada is a beautiful addition to any home, and is overflowing with character!

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time. We are more than happy to offer curbside pickup if you are in the area, give us a call.
