Navajo Horsehair Pottery V Shape Olla Hand Etched

This Navajo Horsehair Pottery is dressed with a delicate fine line pattern around the top surface of the V shaped Olla. The smokey Horsehair background was artfully applied evenly over the surface of the pot and the reticulated lines appear as if the entire pot is covered in lightning strikes. The horsehair always creates a different pattern and so each pot is a one-of-a-kind, not to mention the hand-etched patterns are never the same either. This large "V" shaped Olla is 7-3/4" tall and 10-1/2" wide. The last pictures detail some rough spots on the lip that look like they occurred during firing. Signed by the artist and labeled Navajo. This Native American Horsehair Pottery is more than just a beautiful work of cultural art, it's a piece of the spirit and the mystery of the southwest.

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time. Our dazzling, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise comes from a nearby mine in Globe, AZ. This unique and exceedingly rare turquoise is renowned for its hardness, durability, and gorgeous color. Our artisans preserve the natural beauty of this precious stone, so you can admire its elegance for years to come. A hand buffed polish protects the stones and heightens its natural beauty.
