This Old Pawn Morenci Turquoise Zuni Bolo Tie Buckle Set was handmade by Zuni Silversmith Effie Calavaza, known all over the world for her copyrighted signature flat head snake style. Using Morenci Turquoise stones which are accenting two of her signature snakes, slithering thru the Sterling design. The stones are set in hand-cut bezels, and the frame is finished with hammered patterns. The bolo tie measures 3" tall and 2-1/4" at its widest. It comes with the old, original bolo cord with matching snake accented tips. A new black leather 4-ply cord (about 44" long) is included no extra charge. Let us know in the comments section when you check out if you would like the tips put on the new cord. The matching belt buckle measures about 3-1/2" wide and 2-1/4" tall. Circa 1960's, both vintage items are hallmarked and stamped Sterling, original patina is featured with both collectible items. We offer the option to polish the silver, however, it is not recommended and we will not except a return on this item if polished. Effie Calavaza (1928-2019) was from Zuni, NM and started making jewelry with her husband, Juan in the 1950's. She went all the way to the Supreme Court to copyright her signature snake style to protect her work, ensuring that no one can copy her design. Her jewelry is treasured by collectors, worldwide! She is referenced in Schaaf's "American Indian Jewelry I and II", Wright's "Hallmarks of the Southwest", Bells "ZUNI: The Art and The People Vol II" and Bassman's "Zuni Jewelry" just to name a few!
