Overlaid Silver Eagle Belt Buckle

This Overlaid Silver Eagle Belt Buckle is a unique Navajo design depicting a beautiful soaring eagle! His fully open wings form a heart, as he flies over a desert pattern that includes a yucca plant, which is the New Mexico state flower! With two sheets of German Silver soldered together, the hand applied etching and oxidation brings the image to life. Buffed to a Santa Fe (satin) sheen, it's 3" x 2" with a 1-7/8" keeper and is hallmarked by Thomas A Begay. This Overlaid Silver Eagle Belt Buckle is a really nice accessory to step out in!

Individually handmade, there may be slight variations in the design.

Thomas Begay (1955- ) was born in Many Farms, AZ. He learned the traditional style from his father but eventually switched over to Hopi overlay, a style that he has loved for as long as could remember. His wife of more than 40 years, Ilene Begay (1948- ) helps him with the stamping.

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time. We are more than happy to offer curbside pickup if you are in the area, give us a call.

Our dazzling, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise comes from a nearby mine in Globe, AZ. This unique and exceedingly rare turquoise is renowned for its hardness, durability, and gorgeous color. Our artisans preserve the natural beauty of this precious stone, so you can admire its elegance for years to come. A hand buffed polish protects the stones and heightens its natural beauty.
