Small Hopi Native American Dough Bowl by Dee Setalla

This Small Hopi Dough Bowl by Dee Setalla is truly a work of art! Crafted using the hand coil technique, artist Dee Setalla stacked rings of clay coils on top of each other and scraped them together to create one smooth shape. He then hand painted the dough bowl using checkered detailing on the outside, with more geometric intricate detailing on the inside, with swirls and animal features. The bowl is about 3" long by 6-1/2" wide in diameter,  and signed by the artist. Big enough to fill anything with, or to keep as beautiful decoration, this Small Hopi Native American Dough Bowl by Dee Setalla is masterpiece of pottery!

Dee Setalla (1963-) is a member of the Hopi-Tewa Reservation and is a member of the Bear Clan, with notable family members such as his aunt Eunice "Fawn" Navasie and his mother Pauline Setalla, who both taught him the craft from a young age. He specializes in making pottery that is a mix of the traditional and contemporary, and paints traditional images of animals and weather on his works.
