Turquoise Coral Zuni Calavaza Snake Earrings

These Zuni Calavaza Snake Earrings feature Effie Calavaza's iconic snake design! High quality Coral and Turquoise cabs are accented with a Sterling Silver serpent who symbolizes renewal. The snake slithers around the stones in a figure eight pattern and ends with his head in the middle of the design. They're 1/2" wide and 3/4" tall and post backed. Hallmarked Effie C. in honor of their mother's original design and legacy. These handmade Calavaza Turquoise Coral Snake Earrings continue to be one of the most original and popular Native American designs ever created!

Randy is Effie's son and Amelia (Joy) is her daughter-in-law. They both started to make her well-known and highly sought after snake patterns in the 1980's. Effie (1928-2019) was still making jewelry at age 90....what a woman!

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time. Our dazzling, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise comes from a nearby mine in Globe, AZ. This unique and exceedingly rare turquoise is renowned for its hardness, durability, and gorgeous color. Our artisans preserve the natural beauty of this precious stone, so you can admire its elegance for years to come. A hand buffed polish protects the stones and heightens its natural beauty.
