Vintage Etched Pueblo Seed Pottery
This Vintage Etched Pueblo Seed Pottery egg was handmade by Vangie Tafoya. An extremely talented pueblo artist, it features a nature inspired design that is beautifully hand etched (sgraffito). A delicate butterfly and flower design, this intricate clay beauty is amazing! About 2-3/8" tall and 2-1/8" at its widest, it's signed and hallmarked. Perfect for any tiny space in your home or office, this collectible Vintage Etched Pueblo Seed Pottery egg is one of a kind!
Vangie (1944- ) a Jemez/San Ildefonso Indian learned from her grandmother, Maria Sanchez Colaque. She has been active since 1982, and is an award wining artisan, whose work is highly collectible. She is referenced in Schiffer's "Pueblo and Navajo Contemporary Pottery", Indian Market Magazine 1998 and Hayes/Blom's "Southwestern Pottery: Anasazi to Zuni".
