Vintage Handmade Silver Chief Kachina Bolo Tie

This Vintage Handmade Silver Chief Kachina Bolo Tie was handmade and hammered in Sterling by George Dyckman. It depicts Eototo with a textured case mask topped by brass eagle feathers. He wears a hand textured tunic with textured leggings, and is accented with wind symbols. He carries a sacred water jug and a bag of cornmeal and he wears twisted knee cords. He's 4-1/8" tall and 1-7/8" at the widest and is threaded on a new braided, black leather cord. It's about 43" end to end. The tips are finished with multicolored block inlays that are truly exceptional! It's hallmarked and stamped Sterling. George Dyckman (1926-2009) was a true renaissance man and judging from the details of this collection, he was extraordinarily meticulous! After retiring as an engineer at Honeywell, he dabbled in real estate and created new and unique items for McDonnell Douglas. He lived in Prescott Valley, where it took about 20 years (starting in the 1970’s) to create this kachina gathering. He had no experience as a jeweler, but was fascinated by the mystical tales of the Hopi katsina. His grandson finally decided to part with his collection, so that others may own them and enjoy wearing them!
