Vintage Hopi Koshare Clown Sterling Pendant Necklace

This Vintage Hopi Koshare Clown Sterling Pendant Necklace was handmade by Floyd Namingha Lomakuyvaya. He depicts an overlaid image of the kachina, who brings prosperity and happiness and preserves harmony within his community! The top layer of Sterling was hand sawed to create the design and was then soldered to a bottom layer....shadowbox style. It's lightweight and easy to wear and the bottom layer was oxidized for contrast. It's 2" long and 7/8" at the widest and has a shepherds hook on the back. It comes with the orignal, handmade Sterling link chain that is 19" long (includes clasp). With its original patina, it's picto hallmarked with an antelope rattle and is stamped Sterling. This Vintage Hopi Koshare Clown Sterling Pendant Necklace is perfect for adding good vibes to the wearer....Pueblo style!

Floyd (1940- ) of Shungopavi (Second Mesa) and the Bear Strap Clan and has been active since the late 1960's. He was taught by well-known smith, Kenneth Kuwanvayouma. Floyd is referenced in Schaaf's "American Indian Jewelry I", Bassman's "The Beauty of Hopi Jewelry", Wright's "Hallmarks of the Southwest" and Wright's "Hopi Silver".

NOTE: This comes with the original patina, but can be buffed to a new high shine, making it non-returnable.
