Vintage Hopi Longhair Cradle Doll

This Vintage Hopi Longhair Cradle Doll was hand carved and painted in a traditional wall hanger style from cottonwood. This supernatural sings in a sweet voice, to coax the rains from the heavens for a bountiful crop. His feathered beard and hair are symbols of falling rain. Sparsely decorated, a hand and toe peek out of the traditional clothing. About 9-3/8" tall and 3-3/4" wide and in good, used condition with some some discoloration, circa 1970's. This Vintage Hopi Longhair Cradle Doll is one of a kind!

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time.
