Vintage Hopi Overlaid Silver Earrings

These Vintage Hopi Overlaid Silver Earrings were handmade by Jackson Secklestewa. Using traditional patterns and two layers of Sterling, he sawed out the top layer to create the rain and lightning design and soldered it to an etched and oxidized base. These are 13/16" tall and 7/16" at the widest and are finished with screw backs. They're hallmarked with an eagle feather. These Vintage Hopi Overlaid Silver Earrings are really cute, and perfect for any occasion!

Jackson (1943-) is a Second Mesa artist of the Eagle Clan, who became an active jeweler in 1970. He's an award winning smith, who learned and worked at the Hopi Silvercraft Guild. He is referenced in Hougart's "Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks", Wright's "Hopi Silver" and Schaaf's "American Indian Jewelry III".

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time.
