This Vintage Hopi Overlaid Silver Ladies Watch by Floyd Namingha was handmade and depicts the powerful patterns of moisture, a central theme to the lives of pueblo Indians. Crafted from two layers of Sterling, the recesses were hand etched and oxidized. It was buffed to a matte finish, and these tips are about 5/8" at the widest and 1-1/8" long for wrist sizes 5-1/2" to 8". Floyd (1940-) was born into the Bear Strap Clan at Second Mesa. He learned from Kenneth Kuwanvayouma and has been active since the late 1960's. He is referenced in Wright's "Hopi Silver" and "Hallmarks of the Southwest", Bassman's "The Beauty of Hopi Jewelry" and Schaaf's "American Indian Jewelry I".
