Vintage Hopi Silver Bear Earrings

These Vintage Hopi Silver Bear Earrings were handmade by Sharold Nutumya. The paws, a symbol of healing and friendship were crafted from two layers of Sterling. The etching and oxidation provide the contrast you see. They're 1" long and 3/4" at the widest with clip on backs. They're stamped Sterling, hallmarked SN and HE for Hopi Enterprises. These Vintage Hopi Silver Bear Earrings are one of a kind and are really nice!

Sharold (1945- ) is a Second Mesa artist of the Parrot Clan, and became active in the early 1970's. He learned at Hopicrafts (Hopi Enterprises) and is referenced in Hougart's "Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks", Wright's "Hallmarks of the Southwest" and "Hopi Silver" and Schaaf's "American Indian Jewelry I and III".

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time. Our dazzling, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise comes from a nearby mine in Globe, AZ. This unique and exceedingly rare turquoise is renowned for its hardness, durability, and gorgeous color. Our artisans preserve the natural beauty of this precious stone, so you can admire its elegance for years to come. A hand buffed polish protects the stones and heightens its natural beauty.
