Vintage Jemez Seed Pot Pottery Collectible by Mary Small

This Vintage Jemez Seed Pot Pottery by Mary Small (Kal-la-Tee) is an outstanding and highly collectible work of art! This lovely little seed pot was made with local clay that was hand formed using the coil method to create the pot. She is known for this palette of muted grey, orange & white. Hand painted with geometric designs including a ring of floral leaves radiating out from the opening at the top with a single Turquoise nugget. This is hand etched signed on the base. It measures about 4" tall, 3-1/2" wide. In very good, used condition. One of a kind, this Vintage Jemez Seed Pot Pottery will be the focal point of your pueblo collection!

Mary Small (1940- ) is an was an award winning artisan. Taught by her mother, Perfecttita Toya. She is referenced in Schaaf's "Southern Pueblo Pottery 2000 Artist Biographies" and Hayes and Blom's "Southwestern Pottery: Anasazi to Zuni" and Schiffer's "Pueblo and Navajo Contemporary Pottery". Her work is included in the Heard Museum, the Denver Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian Institution, as well as, private collections throughout the country.
