Vintage Mother of Pearl Silver Navajo Y Necklace

This Vintage Mother of Pearl Silver Navajo Y Necklace was handcrafted by Pauline McCray. This traditional design features pretty, luminous shell cabochons. Each is set with Sterling twist wire, topped with hammered leaves and drops. The center display is almost 4" long and 1-1/4" at the widest. The stations are strung on Sterling 7.5-8mm bench bead strands and with the clasp included, it's 22-1/4" long. In very good, used condition, this jewelry is hallmarked and stamped Sterling. This Vintage Mother of Pearl Silver Navajo Y Necklace is southwest jewelry that is unmistakable in its classic beauty, and appreciated for it's unexpected iridescent color!

There is no info available for Pauline, but she is referenced in Schaaf's "American Indian Jew/elry Vol III", Wright's "Hallmarks of the Southwest" and Hougart's "Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks".

Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time.
