Vintage Nez Perce Indian Beaded Purse

This Vintage Nez Perce Indian Beaded Purse by Lizzie Leach Quintana came to us in trade. The former owner bought it from Lizzie, when she was in Spokane, Washington. This beautiful bead-work features traditional Native, seed-bead designs that were hand-sewn onto brain tanned leather. On the front, a blooming rose with leaves is backed in white. On the back, a large geometric design sits on a blue turquoise background. The edges are fully beaded and joined together with a leather gusset. The interior is lined with a cotton calico fabric and has a loomed bead handle. It's about 8-1/2" wide and 14-1/2"long (includes handle). Mid to late 20th century, this is in extremely good, used condition with no bead loss. This Vintage Nez Perce Indian Beaded Purse is one of a kind and it is nice!

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time.
