Vintage San Juan Pueblo Redware Pottery
This Vintage San Juan Pueblo Redware Pottery by Rosita Cata, displays her exceptional talent for traditional beauty. Clouds, rain and other geometric symbolism are hand painted on this dynamic bowl. Hand built and pit fired, the red clay was stone polished to achieve the high shine contrast against the painted graphics. It's 4-3/4" tall and almost 6-1/2" wide and is signed. In very good, used condition, circa 1980's. This Vintage San Juan Pueblo Redware Pottery is one of a kind and really beautiful!
Rosita (1911-2008) was the daughter of Santos and Petronite Cruz. She became active in the 1960's. She is referenced in Schaaf's "Pueblo Indian Pottery 750 Artist Biographies".
