Vintage Zuni Buffalo Fetish Heishi Necklace

This Vintage Zuni Fetish Heishi Necklace depicts the mighty beast of the Plains, in an iridescent display of Mother of Pearl and Gold Lip shell! The unknown pueblo artisan hand carved and etched, 17 totems that are believed to promote endurance and to rise above one's weaknesses. The center animal is 1-5/8" wide and 1" tall, and the smaller bisons gradually taper to the extensions. The design is finished with 2mm shell heishi. Sterling cones dress the ends and it's 31-1/2" long, including the clasp. In very nice, used condition, late 20th century. This Vintage Zuni Fetish Heishi Necklace is one of a kind!

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time. Our dazzling, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise comes from a nearby mine in Globe, AZ. This unique and exceedingly rare turquoise is renowned for its hardness, durability, and gorgeous color. Our artisans preserve the natural beauty of this precious stone, so you can admire its elegance for years to come. A hand buffed polish protects the stones and heightens its natural beauty.
