Vintage Zuni Inlaid Gaan Dancer Cuff

This Vintage Zuni Inlaid Gaan Dancer Cuff was handmade by Flo (Florentine) Panteah. It features the Apache Fire Dancer, who is believed to have the power to heal. The pattern is created with hand cut tiles of Jet, Mother of Pearl, Turquoise, Spiny Oyster and Gold Lip. Bevel cut MOP and Turquoise rectangles finish either side. Angled Silver bars accent an upper and lower border. It's 1-1/2" wide and will best fit a 6-1/4" wrist. It's hallmarked and in excellent condition. Your correct size: you must measure the circumference of your wrist. You can use a cloth tape measure, a ¼” strip of paper or a cord to wrap around your wrist and mark it. Lay it out flat and measure the length against a ruler, that’s your exact circumference and the size you wear.

Florentine (1941-1987) became active in the 1970's. He is referenced in Hougart's "Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks", Wright's "Hallmarks of the Southwest", Schaaf's "American Indian Jewelry III" and Bell's "Zuni: The Art of the People Vol I".
