White Buffalo Chief Cigar Store Indian

This White Buffalo Chief Cigar Store Indian is a magnificent presence indeed! Handmade by Mandan Native, Frank Gallagher, this craft has been a family endeavor for generations. Standing tall and proud, the chief holds a pack of cigars in a metallic gold pouch, just as they did long ago to advertise tobacconists. The tunic depicts the sacred animal standing under the symbols for rain clouds and sun. The loincloth displays stepped mesas with large X's above. The long pants continue the distressed yellow color palette with red and brown zig-zags. Including the pow-wow drum base, it's about 6 feet tall and artist signed (carved) on the back headdress. This White Buffalo Chief Cigar Store Indian is really something!
 

The Gallagher's use Aspen wood from Colorado to create these hand carved sculptures. With your purchase, you will receive a photocopy of an interview with Ralph Gallagher from the original June 1998 Issue of Arizona Highways magazine.

We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time.
