Wooden Cigar Store Indian
This Wooden Cigar Store Indian was hand carved and painted by Frank Gallagher. Traditionally dressed in a golden tunic with decorated sleeves and golden "buckskin" skirt, a mother carries her baby in a tribal papoose on her back. She wears a turquoise necklace and hair ties and holds two ears of corn. Including the pow-wow drum base, it's about 5-1/2 feet tall and is artist signed (carved) on the back. Meant to be seen coming and going, this Wooden Cigar Store Indian is delightful!
The Gallagher's use Aspen wood from Colorado to create these hand carved sculptures. With your purchase, you will receive a photocopy of an interview with Ralph Gallagher from the original June 1998 Issue of Arizona Highways magazine.
