These Effie Calavaza Snake Design Turquoise Dangle Earrings feature Effie Calavaza's iconic snake design, made by Gayle Calavaza! Gemmy Turquoise cabs are accented with a Sterling Silver serpent who symbolizes renewal. The snake slithers around the stones in a figure eight pattern with his head and Turquoise eyes in the middle of the design. They're 1/2" wide and 1-1/2" tall (including french hooks). Hallmarked Effie C. in honor of her original design and legacy. These handmade Calavaza Turquoise Snake Dangle Earrings continue to be one of the most original and popular Native American designs ever created!

Effie Calavaza (1928-2019) is well-known for her beloved artform, snake inspired jewelry. Effie started making jewelry in 1956 when she married her husband Juan. Both were born and raised in the Zuni, New Mexico Pueblo. To this day her family continues to make her patented famous snake designed jewelry.

While most of our silversmiths are Navajo, we employ artists from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some work from home, on the reservation, and some work here in our shop. Alltribes Native American Art and Jewelry blends ancient history, natural beauty, and unparalleled expertise flawlessly. We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time.
