Old Pawn Hopi Overlaid Sterling Belt Buckle

This Old Pawn Hopi Overlaid Sterling Belt Buckle was handmade by Daniel Phillips for Hopicrafts. It features four kachina style figures, each pair holding hands for the upcoming ceremony. A layer of Sterling was hand cut and soldered to a textured base for contrast. It's 3" by 2" with a 1-5/8" keeper and is hallmarked HC and DP and pre-1983. Daniel (1950-) of the Saltbush and Greasewood Clans was born in Oraibi (Third Mesa) and has been an active smith since 1970. He is referenced in Wright's "Hallmarks of the Southwest" and "Hopi Silver", Hougart's "Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks" and Schaaf's "American Indian Jewelry III".

We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert.
