Navajo Overlaid Silver Concho Hatband
This Navajo Overlaid Silver Concho Hatband is made by Thomas Begay. He offers a traditional pattern that is often be seen on Native American rugs and pottery. Accented with hammered details, nine scalloped German Silver conchos (1-1/2" by 1") are antiqued for contrast against the high shine. He securely attached these on 3/4" wide, genuine leather. It's 26-1/4" long and is adjustable. This Navajo Overlaid Silver Concho Hatband is western wear with southwest spirit!
Thomas (1955- ) was born in Many Farms, AZ. He learned the traditional style from his father but eventually switched over to Hopi overlay, a style that he has loved for as long as could remember. His wife of more than 40 years, Ilene (1948- ) sometimes helps him with the stamping.
