Vintage Hopi Bluebird Snare Kachina Doll
This Vintage Hopi Bluebird Snare Kachina Doll depicts Choshurwa, a First Mesa supernatural, who appears at the Bean Dance. Except for his straight legs, he is almost identical to Cross-Legged Katsina. The traditional cottonwood is skillfully hand carved and painted with a white face, and red chevron over his protruding nose. He wears a checkered, bachelors' blanket and carries a rattle and double ended lightning arrow with a fox tail on his sash. He's about 9-1/2" tall and 5" wide and has a tie hanger, although he can stand straight. In very good, used condition with wear, unsigned and ca 1970's. This Vintage Hopi Bluebird Snare Kachina Doll is a rare treat and it's one of a kind!
