Vintage Kachina Doll
This Vintage Kachina Doll by Leonard Taho II depicts Ongchoma, who is present at initiations and sympathizes with children who are about to be punished. Ready to step into action, he carries flat paddles in his right hand, but he also touches the child with his left hand to make him strong, so they will not feel any pain. Details include traditional sashing, colorful boot bands and a jacla necklace. The cottonwood is 12-1/4" tall on an irregular shaped 4" base and was professionally restored by Hopi Milton Howard. This Vintage Kachina Doll is hallmarked and dated 1993.
