Vintage Rainbow Man Coral Silver Belt Buckle

This Vintage Rainbow Man Inlaid Coral Belt Buckle was handmade by Zuni smiths, Harlan and Monica Coonsis. It features Uhmmi Dollanna, the bringer of life-giving summer rains of Pueblo lore! With his arched back, that resembles a rainbow arc, he wears a terraced cap to represent the clouds! This one of a kind, Sterling accessory is inlaid with hand cut pieces of genuine, Spiny Oyster shell and is detailed by hand to bring out the dance sash and skirt, background mesas and arms. It's 2-1/2" by 1-3/4” with a 1-1/2" keeper. In very good, used condition, it’s hallmarked and stamped Sterling. It includes the hand signed tribal name of the spirit deity and Zuni, NM 2004. A smaller size for just about anybody to wear, this Vintage Rainbow Man Red Coral Zuni Belt Buckle offers a traditional and mystical addition to any belt you wear it on!

 Harlan (1958- ) was born into the Sun Clan at Zuni Pueblo, NM. He is the grandson of Myra Qualo and an award-winning artisan, who works with his wife Monica. They are known for their high-quality lapidary skills. They are referenced in Schaaf's "American Indian Jewelry I and II", Hougart's "Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks" and Bassman's "Zuni Jewelry".
