Vintage Santa Clara Black Pottery Bowl
This Vintage Santa Clara Black Pottery Bowl by Ethel Willow, displays a simple pattern in a heavily, incised cloud pattern. The small bowl is stone polished to a high shine. Ethel finished the opening in a triangular pattern. About 3-1/4" tall & 4" wide & signed. Very good, used condition, some minor scratches, 1980's. Highly collectible, this Vintage Santa Clara Black Pottery Bowl is one of a kind!
Ethel (1950- ) has been active since 1975 and is the daughter of Mida Tafoya. Her work is in the Heard Museum and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe. She is referenced in Schaaf's "Pueblo Indian Pottery: 750 Artist Biographies"and Lillian Peaster's "Pueblo Pottery Families".
