Vintage Santo Domingo Dough Bowl
This Vintage Santo Domingo Dough Bowl by Pedro Lovato would have been used in the making of yeast bread. Simply painted with petals and lines, this plainware style was probably made for the tourist trade, as there is no wear on the inside. The exterior was stone polished and slip painted. Very good condition with residue from an old sticker on the bottom. It's 2-1/2" tall & 6-3/8" wide. This Vintage Santo Domingo Dough Bowl is nice!
Pedro (1958- ) was taught by his grandmother, Santana. He is referenced in Schaaf's "Southern Pueblo Pottery 2000 Artist Biographies".
