Vintage Walpi Village Small Saucer

This Vintage Walpi Village Small Saucer by Hopi Bertha Kinale was acquired in a recent trade lot. It was hand shaped, painted and fired using traditional methods. A traditional pattern was free hand painted. The paint has faded andthere is one chip in rim. There is some pitting, (mostly underside) from firing but still in solid, good condition. About 3-3/4" wide. Signature and village barely readable, circa 1970's. This Vintage Walpi Village Small Saucer is one of a kind!

Bertha was born into the Coyote Clan in 1935 on First Mesa. She is referenced in Schaaf's "Hopi-Tewa Pottery: 500 Artist Biographies".

We are conveniently located near Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix, AZ in the historic town of Gilbert. Unfortunately, due to Covid and other factors, we are unable to take walk in customers at this time.
