Vintage Zuni Warrior Kachina Doll
This Vintage Zuni Warrior Kachina Doll was hand carved and painted by an unknown Hopi carver. This dancer, known as Sip-ikne appears in the Bean Dance at First Mesa. Using traditional patterns, he sports flower ears, joined eyes, a very long tube mouth and wears a parrot on his head. The trims include yarn, leather and old sequins (some missing). The cottonwood is painted with bright greens, black and yellows, wit cloud, water and rain symbolism. He holds a cactus paddle rattle and a yucca whip. He's about 13" tall, 7" wide and 7" deep. Unsigned, there is some wear and paint loss with some repair work. This Vintage Zuni Warrior Kachina Doll is one of a kind!
