Zuni Inlaid Sterling Silver Owl Bolo Tie by Pitkin Netawa

This Zuni Inlaid Sterling Silver Owl Bolo Tie is a smaller but wonderful depiction of the night guardian, handcrafted by Pitkin Natewa.  Hand cut tiles of Turquoise, Mother of Pearl, Spiny Oyster, Cowrie Shell and Jet are fitted into Sterling. This incredible, pueblo jewelry was all handmade. It's 1-3/8" tall & 1-1/4" wide on a braided, black leather cord. Including the Sterling tips, it's 44" long. Signed by Zuni Artist Pitkin Natewa. This Zuni Inlaid Sterling Silver Owl Bolo Tie would be a nice for anyone who wants to own an authentic Zuni designed bolo tie, it is perfect in size for everyone to wear!

Pitkin (1934- ) and Wanda (1939-2013) were active jewelers from 1952 to the 1980's. This husband and wife team, from Zuni Pueblo, NM are referenced in "Hougart's "Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks", Bassman's "Zuni Jewelry", and Schaaf's "Hallmarks of the Southwest" and Wright's "American Indian Jewelry III".
