Vintage Acoma Polychrome Small Bird Effigy Bowl
Perfect if you're looking to add a historical and vintage addition to your home decor, this Vintage Acoma Polychrome Small Bird Effigy Bowl fits all of those categories! Made by an unknown potter, they crafted this small effigy bowl out of hand coiled stacked clay rings, that are then scraped together until smooth. They also added additional clay elements such as the bird's head and coiled tail before firing, and then finally painting with Bee Weed plant made into paints, and decorating this piece with geometric polychrome design as well as decorating the bird's face. This small bowl is 3-1/2" tall and 3-3/8" at the widest, and is vintage circa 1950's-1960's, with paint chipping and commensurate wear. This Vintage Acoma Polychrome Small Bird Effigy Bowl is some of Acoma's finest!
