Vintage Hopi Yellow Clown Kachina Doll

This Vintage Hopi Yellow Clown Kachina Doll by Buddy Dukepoo depicts the Sikya Tsutskutu (Tsuku). His all yellow painted body wears a traditional cloth and blanket around his waist and a medicine bag around his neck. He carries a dance rattle and a lightning bolt arrow. This cottonwood figure sports the traditional markings of the koshare on his face, and he offers a big smile to everyone. He's about 8-1/4" tall and 5" wide and in very good, used condition. It's signed and dated 1985 under the base. He's got pueblo style to spare and is a delightful character, and this Vintage Hopi Yellow Clown Kachina Doll should be in your collection!

Buddy (1962- ) is an award winning carver, who was born in Second Mesa into the Sun Forehead Clan. He has been featured in "Southwest Art Magazine", "Arizona Highways" and "Native Peoples Magazine" and is referenced in Schaaf's "Hopi Katsina 1600 Artist Biographies".
