Buffalo Chief Cigar Store Indian

This Buffalo Chief Cigar Store Indian was hand carved and painted by Mandan tribal member, Frank Gallagher. In full headdress and traditional clothing, it includes a buffalo medallion outlined in turquoise. He's decorated with tribal colors and holds a pack of smokes in his hand, just like the early outdoor sculptures for tobacconists. A real conversation piece, it's the southwestern way to greet your guests. About 5 feet tall, including the powwow drum base. This Buffalo Chief Cigar Store Indian is hallmarked on the back.

The Gallagher's use Aspen wood from Colorado to create these hand carved sculptures. With your purchase, you will receive a photocopy of an interview with Ralph Gallagher from the original June 1998 Issue of Arizona Highways magazine.
