Navajo Silver Buffalo Bolo Tie
This Navajo Silver Buffalo Bolo Tie depicts the sacred animal of Native American Plains tribes in a Hopi style display! Using two sheets of German Silver, the top layer was cut out with a hand saw and then stamped with Thomas' handmade stamps. Soldered to a solid base, the shield is 2" long and 1-5/8" wide at the top. Finished with a satin buffing, it comes on a 4-ply leather cord, and including the tips, it's about 44" long. Handmade, it's hallmarked by Thomas Begay. This Navajo Silver Buffalo Bolo Tie is classic, southwest menswear!
Thomas Begay (1955- ) was born in Many Farms, AZ. He learned the traditional style from his father but eventually switched over to Hopi overlay.. His wife, Ilene Begay (1948- ) helps him with the stamping.
